The Club was formed in the early 1990s by a small group of archery enthusiasts. The newly formed group of archers contacted the Beagle Club in Shad Bay and the two groups decided to share the clubhouse and grounds of the already established Beagle Club. Eventually the Beagle Club closed its doors and the property was sold to a local resident who agreed the archery club could continue access to the club to this day.
The Osprey Archery Club is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of archery in general, including the ethical use of archery equipment for the harvesting of wild game and preserving their natural habitat.
Members have access to the use of the permanent outdoor target and 3D courses as well as access to the indoor clubhouse, which has six 18 m FITA target lanes for year round use.
Osprey Archery has an outdoor 12 target field (woods) course that travels through a natural forest environment providing practice shooting at varied distances from different and challenging shooting positions. Members can also shoot from our two tiered shooting platform (tree stand). Uphill and downhill shooting lanes, as well as natural terrain/obstacles provide a challenging shooting experience.
For Olympic style archery, we also have an outdoor 90 meter range for fixed distance FITA target archery. Both of these courses are available to our members.
